The “Why”
I’ve been doing nails for 9 years, and opened The Powder Room a little over 2 years ago in Uptown New Orleans. Growing up and working in different salons, I knew I wanted to create something different — a space where both clients and nail techs feel respected and supported.
This salon was built with intention. I wanted a team of talented women who make clients feel comfortable speaking up about the styles they like, and confident that we’ll actually listen and bring those ideas to life. We care about the little things — clean work, good service, and doing it right the first time without rushing anyone in or out.
One thing I’m especially proud of is that we’re one of the very few salons in New Orleans that hires non-Asian American and minority women. In this industry, that’s rare — and it matters. My goal has always been to create opportunities for women who don’t always get them, and to build a team that reflects the community we serve.
At The Powder Room, you can come in with anything — a full-blown idea or just a vibe — and we’ll do our best to not only meet your expectations, but go beyond them.
This place is built on passion, purpose, and a whole lot of love.
We’re so glad you're here.
